Amusing review of new Russell Crowe/Ridley Scott movie set in Provence from Boston, Mass, "a mostly familiar story of a workaholic London financial whiz who learns to stop and smell the rosé after he inherits his uncle’s vineyard in Provence."

I've always liked Russel Crowe and I loved the scenes from Provence, but this was just a horrible movie. They left out things, very much needed, from the book, switched characters around and made a huge confusing mess of a movie. Like Ron Howard, this Ridley Scott, should have run the script by me. Maybe next time. And Russel Crowe should never do another comedy-not his thing.

My worst fears confirmed! I thought the book was a weak affair, but I'm a sucker for things provencal.
I guess Jean de Florette & Manon remain the definitive Provence works of art?
