The spectacular Gorges du Verdon high up in Provence are popular for suicides. But the local authorities are fighting back & have cleaned 20 tonnes of metal from the Gorges.
With classic Gallic charm, the manager in charge said: “This is a centre for suicides in France. I suppose it’s a sign of their attachment to the gorges that they want to finish their lives there.”
Many people jump from the Artuby bridge (180 m) !

And the strangely "fun" thing is that it's not the same squad of fire men which have to pack the body and bring it back to the road by feet (remember 180m!) dipending if the rest of the body crash on the left or the right of the little river.
What a hard and sad job !
