The Auberge Provencale (in Mons, Provence) has, arguably, the best view of any restaurant in the world. The nosh is well presented Provencale fare, reasonable prices, great service. Rod Stewart stopped by for lunch (proud picture on wall). Eat on the terrace in good weather for the whole experience.
The best thing is watching the mediterranean from 800m above sea level, scanning the horizon from Cannes to Frejus, taking in views of St. Cezaire, Montauroux, Fayence etc.

The Nid d'Aigle in Gourdon is possibly slightly more spectacular.
