I am deeply moved by this piece from Indonesia, extolling the virtues of Provence in a deliciously purple patch of textbook English.
A few excerpts thrilled me:
"The French call the Mediterraneanaffectionately "La Grande Bleue" and one of the best places to appreciate its bizarre cliff formations, sandy coves and palette of colour is the Cote d`Azur. Along with the azure blue of the sea, the French Riviera is also famous for its green palm and olive trees as well as the ochre hue of Provencal farm buildings basking in shimmering sunshine. The area has been a playground for the jet set and well-to-do for decades and the coast has a large selection of very comfortable hotels to offer the traveller - that is, if they haven`t brought their own accommodation in the form of a yacht.
Visitors who decide to take a trip down one of the winding roads that skirt the coastline can look forward to plenty of impressions and surprises."
St. Tropez is taken in: "It`s here that the rich and the beautiful go to sun themselves on the beaches at Plage de Tahiti and Plage de Pampelonne. This is the moment to get a pair of binoculars out and do some VIP spotting. With a bit of luck you can tell the people back home you saw Paris Hilton or George Clooney as they sipped drinks in one of the beachside bars, and who they were flirting with at the time."
And Nice: "Nice is a good place to halt and order a French meal or better still, a Mediterranean menu of fresh sea fish and vegetables in olive oil."
I am holding back the tears.

After reading your article, I couldn't help but let out an Aaaww.. Must have been some good memories you had back there. Be it with some VIP, or someone lesser known to the world but who's definitely famous to your heart.
I'll have to say, accommodation is one of those things I could care less about whenever visiting a new place; there's so much to see outside after all. Although, it'd be nice though if you have a good room to sleep restfully in at the end of the day. So, no, I don't bring my own accommodation. I'm not that rich, and there are nice and inexpensive hotels anyway.
NICE it is. As you said.
P.S. Hmm.. Wonder what's new with that Paris Hilton now.. Take care!
