After much hesitation, I am moved to share these candid pictures of a long treasured art form from Provence - marzipan sculpture. These fine examples were photographed in old Nice, in one of those rambling, cluttered alleyways.
The orangey sculptures are dogs (siamese, I suppose). The pink ones are pigs, although they look more like those wind-dried things hanging up in chinese restaurants. We bought a pig for one-and-a-half year old Maia, but she only bit the head off, spat it out and threw the rest away.
